Antoinette M. Romanelli of Aberdeen died June 11 at Gilchrest Hospice Center. She was 86.
Born August 10, 1921 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Catino and Lucy Nastasee. She was the wife of Michael Romanelli for 62 years. She had lived in Aberdeen for the past 58 years. She worked as a seamstress in Hazleton and a cafeteria room helper for years at Bakerfield Elementary School. She was a homemaker who loved making crafts, cooking, an avid reader who loved all people but especially her family. She was a dedicated and gentle mother and wife. She is survived by her husband, Michael Romanelli, a brother, Ralph Catino of Hazleton, Pa., and four children, Carmella Walls and her husband Bruce of BelAir, Dr.Ralph Romanelli and his wife Glorianna of Falls Church Va, Richard Romanelli and his wife, Janet of White Marsh, Md..and Dr. Michael Romanelli and his longtime companion Steve Hockett of Alexandria, Va.. 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grand children, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Kelpsh .
She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Aberdeen where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 16th. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens.
