Kenneth Birchel Daugherty of Aberdeen died February 27 at University of Maryland Shock Trauma. He was 79.
Born in Joppa, MD he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Mary E. (Johnson) Daugherty.
At the time of his death Mr. Daugherty was employed at Fallston High School, prior to, he worked for over 37 years as a machine operator for the former Bata Shoe Co. Family said he loved playing the lottery.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gladys M. Daugherty of Aberdeen; sons William J. Daugherty of Aberdeen and Kenneth Dobson of Nashville, TN; a daughter, Eula Gay Parker of Havre de Grace; brother, Earl Daugherty of Aberdeen; sisters, Irene Brooks of Belding, Mich., Nancy Woods of Fayetteville, Ark., and Shirley Blevins of Conowingo; grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, and Megan Daugherty, Charles, Jason, and Kenneth Dobson, Jr. and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brothers, John, Robert, Curtis, and Madison Daugherty and sisters Helen Cullum and Ida Bishop.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2 at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A. where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 3 at 10:00am. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John Blevins, George Staples, Joshua Daugherty, William Daugherty, Kenneth Dobson, Jr., and Dave Strong.
