Mary Sue Spry Bowman of Aberdeen died March 5 at her home, after a short battle with breast cancer. She was 83. Born in Winston Salem, NC she was the daughter of the late Fletcher and Gertrude Parson Spry of Piney Creek, NC.
Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker who enjoyed walking in the fields and woods around her home and on the farmland of her childhood home in Piney Creek, NC. During these outings she collected over 100 arrowheads which she proudly displayed. One of her last wishes was that she could walk in the sunshine again.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles Bechtold Bowman; sons, Lonnie F. and wife Shirley Gompers Bowman of Havre de Grace, C. Fletcher and wife Sandy Dever Bowman of Darlington, and Lawrence A. and wife Liz Katchmar Bowman of Aberdeen; five grandchildren, Mary, Brittney, Sarah, Melanie, and Kyle Reese Bowman; a great grandson, Wyatt Fletcher Bowman, and a sister, Martha Spry Lynch of Fallston. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Adelia Spry Cox.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 8 from 5-8pm at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral home where services conducted by Rev. Harold Atkins will be held on Tuesday, March 9 at 11am. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be sent to the charity of one�s choice.
